My treatment philosophy begins with understanding each patient as an individual. Hip and knee pain can affect nearly every aspect of daily life—from work and exercise to travel, family activities, and simple independence. Every patient has different goals, expectations, medical considerations, and priorities, and I believe treatment should reflect those differences.
My goal is not simply to treat an X-ray or perform surgery, but to help each patient return to the activities and lifestyle that matter most to them. I take the time to listen, understand how joint pain is affecting daily life, and develop a personalized treatment plan. When appropriate, I start with nonsurgical options. When joint replacement is the best treatment, we make the decision together through a thoughtful discussion of the expected benefits, risks, recovery, and long-term goals.
When surgery is appropriate, I combine proven joint replacement principles with advanced techniques and technology designed to improve precision, recovery, and function. This includes muscle-sparing direct anterior total hip replacement, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement when appropriate, and modern approaches to complex revision surgery. Technology is a valuable tool, but it should always serve the individual patient rather than dictate treatment.
I also believe that successful joint replacement extends well beyond the operating room. Preoperative preparation, patient education, advanced pain management strategies, rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up are all important parts of achieving the best possible outcome. My role is to guide patients through each step of that process with clear communication, accessibility, and compassion.
A hip or knee replacement is intended to last for many years, and I view the relationship between a patient and their joint replacement surgeon in much the same way—as a lifelong partnership. Whether a patient is considering surgery for the first time, returning for routine follow-up years later, or facing a complex problem with a previous joint replacement, I am committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based, individualized care throughout that journey.
Ultimately, my goal is simple: to help patients overcome hip and knee pain, restore mobility, and return to active, fulfilling lives with confidence.
